Cementitious Fireproofing in Southern California

Tuesday, November 05, 2013

Fires can damage your building in catastrophic ways. Your business can prepare by hiring a painting contractor to apply industrial fireproofing to the building.

How it Works
Cementitious fireproofing comes in a variety of densities and thicknesses, for everything from steel structures to ductwork, so that your building can be safely protected. Cementitious, also called wet mix, fireproofing is pumped under pressure through hoses. When exposed to heat, the water retained in the cement evaporates, then the vapor constrains the fire and absorbs heat.

Benefits

  • Fast and easy application
  • Lightweight
  • Durable
  • Cost-effective
  • Non-visible applications available
  • Rather than cracking or shattering, fire-damaged items experience minor flaws such as denting
